Our service warranty lasts for six months following completion of your restoration.

02 — What We Cover

Mechanical performance and service quality.

The warranty covers mechanical performance issues and other issues related to the quality of the service and restoration work performed by Sutcliffe Hansen.

Mechanical performance issues include:

  • A watch that stops unexpectedly during normal use despite being adequately wound.
  • A gain or loss of time that exceeds the quality control standards established for your watch.
  • An automatic winding mechanism that is unable to wind the watch.
  • A manual winding or time-setting mechanism that does not engage or operate correctly.
  • Hour, minute, or seconds hands that do not advance or operate correctly.
  • A day, date, or other calendar display that does not advance or set correctly.
  • A chronograph whose stop, start, or reset function does not work.
  • Insufficient power reserve.
  • A serviced mechanical complication—such as an alarm, GMT display, moonphase, or repeater—that does not operate correctly.

These examples apply to functions present on your watch that were included in the completed service or restoration.

03 — What We Do Not Cover

Accidental and environmental damage.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by drops, impacts, water damage, water ingress, misuse, accidents, or other circumstances unrelated to the quality of our service and restoration.

04 — Water Resistance

No guarantee of water resistance.

We do not guarantee any level of water resistance. We do not recommend submerging your watch or wearing it while showering, bathing, or swimming.

05 — Ownership

Non-transferable coverage.

The warranty applies only to the customer who purchased the restoration service and is non-transferable.

If you have any questions about your watch, please contact us. We will help you understand whether the issue is within the scope of the warranty and explain the next steps.
